Privacy
Where Next is a small tool for settling group holiday decisions. This page explains what it collects, in plain language, and why. The short version: nothing here is sold, and nothing is shared with third parties for advertising or marketing. The only use of your data is running your game and, in aggregate, making the recommendations better.
What's collected, and why
- Your session and answers. The names you enter and each traveller's answers to the eight questions, so the board can work out what fits the group. This lives only for the lifetime of your game (a matter of hours) and is then deleted.
- Votes and comments on suggested destinations. If you vote a suggestion up or down, that vote, plus the quiz answers and destination ranking that produced it, and any comment you add, is kept to improve future recommendations. It's tied to the anonymous game board it came from, not to your name, session, or IP address. Nothing here is sent to the server unless you actually vote.
- Basic technical logs. Page loads, load times, and error reports, along with your IP address and browser type, purely to keep the site reliable and to catch abuse (e.g. automated overuse). Kept for a limited period, then deleted.
- On your own device only. Your language and light/dark preference, and enough state to resume a game you were mid-way through if you reload the page. None of this ever leaves your device.
- A country guess, to suggest a starting airport. Cloudflare, which already handles every connection to this site, tells the page which country your traffic is coming from, nothing more precise, and never your actual IP address. That's used only to put airports from your country at the top of the list and pre-fill one as a starting point; you can always pick a different one. No new party ever sees your location for this, since Cloudflare was already the one routing your connection.
- Messages sent through the contact form. Whatever name, email, and message you choose to enter, plus your IP address to deter spam. Used only to read and respond to what you sent.
What doesn't happen
Nothing collected here is sold. Nothing is shared with third parties for marketing or advertising. There are no ad trackers and no cross-site profiling. This isn't that kind of tool.
Who else sees anything
Delivering the site at all means traffic necessarily passes through our hosting provider and Cloudflare, who provide security and content delivery, and the page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. These are infrastructure providers, not data-sharing partners, and none of them receive your quiz answers or votes.
Your options
The menu lets you start over at any point, which clears everything saved on your device. If you'd like to get in touch, use the contact form.
Where Next is a personal project, not a company, and this policy is written to match that: plainly, and covering only what the tool actually does.

About
Every group holiday starts the same way: a chat thread that goes nowhere. Someone wants a beach, someone wants a city, one person's budget is a third of everyone else's, and usually the loudest opinion wins, not the best fit.
I built Where Next after watching my own family and friends go through this every single year: weeks of back and forth, half-hearted compromises, and someone quietly unhappy with wherever we landed. The idea was simple. Let everyone answer the same quiz privately, with no peer pressure and no vetoing, then let the answers settle it instead of the group chat.
That's the whole tool: everyone quietly answers eight questions, and the board works out what actually fits the group. No arguing at the table.
Nothing you enter is sold or shared, and there's no advertising or tracking. See the privacy page for the full detail.
Kids who can't read yet aren't left out either. Each question can be read aloud, and answers are picture based, so the whole family can play, not just the readers.
This site was built with a lot of help from AI, and I've checked as much of it as I reasonably could. Some details, seasons, or images may still be out of date or simply wrong. Please double-check anything that matters, such as flights, visas, safety advice, or opening hours, before you rely on it.
Where Next is a personal project, not a company. I built it because I wanted it to exist.
