Bissau & the Bijagós Archipelago

An archipelago of eighty-odd islands where hippos wade in the ocean and sea turtles nest by the thousand, a UNESCO biosphere reserve almost entirely off the tourist map, and a colonial old town slowly being reclaimed by the same greenery it once cleared.
The best time to visit Bissau & the Bijagós Archipelago is Dec–May, when typical daytime highs reach about 35°C (95°F).
