A volcanic remnant so protected that only a few hundred visitors are allowed on it at a time, the world’s southernmost coral reef for snorkelling straight off the beach, and a twin-peaked mountain that dominates every view on the island.

The best time to visit Lord Howe Island is Sep–May, when typical daytime highs reach about 22°C (72°F).
